Warm Up and advice

How do you feel about going into 10th grade next year?

I am exited and kind of nervous since it is another step up and just like all of the other years I am nervous since it might be harder and more challenging then 9th grade. For next year I want to keep the goals that I had for this year, which were to maintain highest honors and play a spot each season. Also I hope with our new teacher that we are able to start a model UN club and a youth in government club as well. I hope to work in a financial job during the year and keep up my persuit of going to Columbia and all of my other goals.

Do you have any advice for me as I enter 10th grade?

Warm-Up for 5/19/10

A. When I grow up I would like to go into Finance. I would like to be a hedge fund manger and be able to make enough money to live a nice life, but I would eventually like to have enough money to buy companies and run them through a parent company. Also I would like to get into politics when I am older as well. Ultimately, I want to live a fun and exciting life though.

B. I want go to collage after high school. I want to go to collage because it would allow me to be able to go into the jobs that I want and to be able to understand more things in the world. Also you are able to grow up and meet and see new people and places that will be a large part in me growing up.

C. I think that it is important to chose a collage that best suits your need and what you like. You want to chose it based on how much you could do while you are there and such. The once you have found some collages that you like, then you can judge them on cost, education, size and more.

"Into the Storm" Taylor Anderson

This book takes place during WWII and talks about the destroyer USS Walker. The USS Walker is a WWI ship that is fighting a loosing battle with the Japanese. They are with an international group of allies and are engaged by few large Japanese ships. Through luck the Waller and there sister ship are able to survive the encounter and sink the enemy ship. While they where fighting they went into a large squall of weather and after they had sunk the Jap. ship they went over to the wreckage and there was survivors that were in the water. As they were going to pick them up a strange creature came and ate the all but one of the survivors. That was only the start and then are they keep sailing they release that they are in a different world. They encounter dinosaurs and only money type inhabitants. This was the start of there whole encounter. That is where I am so far.

I kind of like my book, I had expected for it to be more of a ship wreak story, but that was not what this book is really about. So I think it is ok, but I cant wait to be done with it.

Technology Reflection

Technology has had an enormous impact on my life and our cultures lives. For right now look at what we are doing we (our school) all have netbooks and are all responding to this question right now on a netbook. A large majority of the school, including teachers all have a facebook, myspace or twitter account and most use it almost daily. People can now communicate with each other without opening their mouths, they just have to type on a keyboard. We can get news, weather and any other thing that we would need by typing it into a search engine. We can see and talk to people from all over the world. We can have meeting face to face via web-chat with anyone in the world eliminating the need to travel to the place. Now almost all teenagers and adults have cell phones and can communicate with each other in anyplace in which there is service. So in conclusion we are people and as a society are completely changed and affected by technology and as we keep moving on, but we must always keep in mind how to do things without technology or else is anything happens we must be able to function without technology.
